Speed-R review in the latest What Mountain Bike! 12.11.07
Our well-travelled pink Speed-R demo bike has just been reviewed in issue 77 of What Mountain Bike and once again its another belting review. Here are a few things they had to say about the Speed-R:
"We realised that the Speed-R is a genuinely outstanding ride....we were floating up step-ups, skimming over rubble and riding way beyond our usual level of smoothness and subtlety."
"Whatever the conditions we rode it in, it always seemed to come together when we were on the Speed-R. In short, somewhere among the neatly swaged and box-reinforced stays, the smaller-than-average top tube diameter and whatever other internal tweaks are going on inside, Endorfin has got its ride totally dialled."
"Whatever your views on Rohloff's Speedhub, the Speed-R integrates it better than any other bike we've ridden. In fact, the whole handling, feel and finish of the Speed-R is outstanding in a world where most hardtails struggle to justify their cost."
"The Endorfin was a suprisingly simple bike to ride. The clear, easy twist-grip gear changes of the Rohloff Speedhub allowed for quicker speeds carried into difficult terrain or technical sections. A very light feel with precise steering suggested the frame has a good geometry setup, and even though the Rohloff looks huge, the weight was centrally balanced."
What Mountain Bike Verdict:
Uphill - 8/10
Singletrack - 10/10
Value - 8/10
"Whatever gears you want, the Speed is a superb way to enjoy them"

Endorfin on top of the Dusk til Dawn podium! 08.10.07
We've just got back form another race, this time Dusk 'til Dawn in Thetford Forest. It was a great race and a great win for the Endorfin sponsored mixed pair of Jenn O'Connor and Andy Patterson from Patterson Training.
Jenn and Andy flew round the course and racked up a total of 14 laps in 12 hours, one lap more than their nearest rivals. The race was also the first outing of Andy's custom geometry Speed II SL, built to his own geometry to suit his long body. It seemed to to the job nicely!
You can read their race report on the Patterson Training website - http://www.pattersontraining.com/news_reports.htm
SheCycles rave about the VP-4 Lady! 01.10.07

Endorfin's Eurobike Extravaganza! 04.09.07
We've just got back from Eurobike and we're really excited about what Endorfin have to offer for 2008. There are no major changes across the range, just a tweak here and a small change there. As ever, with Endorfin it's all in the detail.
For 2008 the Speed II gets the same Endorfin specific mech hanger as the Speed II SL. This mech hanger is a little stiffer than the old one and ensures a crisp gear shift every time.
All SL mountain bike frames (Speed II SL, VP-4 SL, Speed-R SL and Singlespeeder SL) get a headtube gusset for 2008. This gusset increases front end stiffness and also adds strength to the frame.
For 2008 Endorfin will also add a carbon mountain bike hardtail to their range and a new superlight carbon road frame (yes, even lighter than the current one). More details on these new frames soon.
We're currently working through the 2008 specification and hope to have the full 2008 details on the website before the end of November. In the meantime please email info@endorfinbikes.co.uk for more details.
Endorfin feature in the What Mountain Bike Awards!
The latest issue of What Mountain Bike includes their annual 'Bike of the Year' awards and Endorfin are included not once but twice. Not only that but the frames are described as "beautiful" both times !
Best Paint Job - "The entire German RAL colour range, sprayed onto beautifully finished frames with a choice of complimentary or clashing graphics. That'll be Endorfin then."
Best Money No Object Hardtail - 2nd place Endorfin Speed-R - "If hardtails are the obvious choice for riders who want to maximise riding and minimise maintenance, then a fully enclosed 14 gear Rohloff Speedhub is the 'hunds hodden'. Endorfin handbuild their beautiful Speed-R frame around either a standard Speedhub or a Tune encased version for possibly the ultimate UK hardtail setup."
We've got Hope, have you?
We can now offer Hope Pro II hubs in all colours as part of any complete Endorfin bike. Best of all the price is exactly the same as the german:A P.O.G. hubs shown on the specification charts. Now you get to choose from the best of British or the pride of Gemany to keep you wheels spinning smoothly. Remember all Endorfiin bikes come with handbuilt wheels as standard, even the tyres are blown up by hand! Hope disc brakes are also available as an upgrade option, please email sales@endorfinbikes.co.uk for details.

Bike Radar fall in love with the VP-4 Lady! 14.07.07
New cycling website www.bikerader.com has only been live for a short time but they have already found time to lust after the Endorfin VP-4 Lady. Here's what they have to say about the 'Lady Killer':
Endorfin bikes hail from Germany and are well know in their homeland for building some extremely good looking and sweet riding bikes. On the female bike front there's not a wide choice, but the bike they do offer is a real killer.
The VP-4 Lady is a 100mm full suspension bike made in the Turner four bar link style. All the detailing on the bike is first class, and the closer you look the more you'll fall in love. Best part of all though is the range of colours you can have the VP-4 painted in. The choice puts Dulux to shame, so match it to your collar or cuffs.
BIKE RADAR Verdict - 4 1/2 stars out of 5

Jenn O’Connor rides (and wins on) an Endorfin VP-4 Lady! 03.06.07
Top female XC and endurance racer Jenn O’Connor will be riding a custom spec VP-4 Lady for the 2007 race season. Jenn turned to Endorfin after her previous bike sponsor let her down and she needed a fast, lightweight full suspension bike for the rest of the season.
Endorfin pulled out all the stops and made Jenn a VP-4 Lady in her Patterson Training team colours and fitted a DT Swiss SSD Carbon rear shock to bring the frame weight down to just over five pounds.
The frame arrived just in time for the bike to be built ready for the Trek Marathon Series round 3 at Margam Park. It was Jenn’s first time out on the VP-4 Lady and she won by 22 minutes! After the race Jenn said she loved the bike and commented on its excellent climbing ability and geometry.
Let’s hope this maiden victory is the shape of things to come!
VP-4 SL gets a Gold Award in What Mountain Bike! 24.05.07
The latest issue of What Mountain Bike (no.71) features a ‘dream bike’ group test and the VP-4 SL gets their coveted Gold Award! Here’s what they had to say about the VP-4 SL:
“Beautifully subtle detailing in more shades than you knew were possible, this lightweight German frame is a true multi coloured dreamboat.”
“When we noticed the almost imperceptibly bulged wall on the down tube after half an hour of casual ogling we knew we were staring at something special.”
“This is one seriously fast bike. The low overall weight is part of the instant zip drive acceleration of the bike, but its whole ride just screams speed.”
“The bike was a real reminder how good a proper 4 bar bike is.”
“It’d undoubtedly be a perfect Marathon/ Enduro/ Epic day bike”
“It might be a classic design, but there are fewer and fewer bikes with the total neutrality and permanent poise of a true 4 bar. Add the subtle details of every part of the Endorfin, an infectiously agile, instantly responsive, speed hungry character and some unique spec options, and there’s only one problem…What colour should you choose?”
Performance 9/10
Exclusivity 10/10
Custom Options 9/10
Overall 9/10 What Mountain Bike Gold Award
Verdict “Delicious detail and screamingly fast 4-bar balance”
Speed-R test in Singletrack issue 34! 12.04.07
The latest issue of Singletrack includes a test of bikes from four different German companies and only the Endorfin Speed-R gets Singletrack RECOMMENDED! Here are a few nice things they had to say about it:
"The Speed-R is a classic example of how a great frame still shines through..."
"Let's concentrate on how fantastic the Speed frame is. It really is a singletrack annihilator - especially if there are any trees around. Out of the saddle it was very reminiscent of the Cannondale Caffeine we reviewed (and loved) in issue 32 with instant, exhilarating reactions to both steering and pedal power but the Endorfin left us a lot less battered feeling."
"It was also surprisingly graceful and stately when out on longer rides in bigger, more mountain-y-terrain - kind a reminiscent of a classic Klein."
"The angles and roomy top tube make life easier on the ups (as does the low weight) and the decent amount of standover and low centre of gravity make things fun and engaging everywhere else."
Conclusion - "The Endorfin has that elusive mix of climbing prowess, singletrack excitement and descending poise combined with impeccable all-day manners. Already one of our bikes of the year"
